While it’s perhaps sadly refreshing to see that the U.S. Administration isn’t the only Ship of State engaging in a race to the bottom for their angry and perplexed populaces, it’s certainly unfortunate that, unlike Arthur, King of the Britons, and his merry knights, faced with our own Rabbits of Caerbannog, we can’t all just “Run away!”

Unfortunately the UK has a media that holds the populist agitator Nigel Farage to a much lower standard than they do Labor so his popularity is artificially propped up. The media is helping Farage bury the fact that he was one of the biggest, loudest proponents for the new deeply unpopular Brexit disaster. As British economist Simon Wren-Lewis wrote:

“In the broadcast media, every interview with Farage should start and end by asking him why he made such a huge mistake in championing Brexit, and how can voters trust someone with such poor judgement. [3] After all, if any other politician had cost the average voter 4% of their income this would be the media’s approach. But it hardly ever happens with Farage.”

That's an excellent and enjoyable read; a lengthy but far from exhaustive litany of the escapes of a few of the degenerates, perverts, thieves and medium IQ chancers who sit in the Mother Of Parliaments.

Angela "Tory scum!" Rayner is truly an apt figure of our times.  Renown for her deployment of a "ginger growler" to distract the Prime Minister of just three years ago (not the current robot, nor his Indian predecessor, nor that buxom woman who was that one's predecessor but the one before that, the cake eating, stylishly disheveled blonde Classics scholar and legendary shagger).  Ange is a ghastly, chippy, professional Northerner and Wolfie Smith style 1970s class warrior who excretes resentment and bile about everything people like her do while practicing hyper-hypocrisy.  Her use of £160,000 of her disabled son's trust fund to pay the deposit for her most recent property purchase deserves more scrutiny than it received (it's a second floor flat which has no lifts and is a long, long way away from where her son lives).

Then there's Baron Mandelson of Guacamole, current ambassador to the United States with his previous for financial irregularities and his penchant for doing deals with convicted paedophiles.  The photograph of Mandelson in his bathrobe is bad enough but the topless selfie he sent of himself to Epstein defies belief.  He's been getting away with it for decades.

Our current Prime Minister is indeed a very peculiar person (and a very dangerous one too, in my opinion).  He takes himself very seriously indeed while Mr Stephen is correct, most people seem to think Starmer himself is the joke.  Two-tier, Free Gear Keir's alleged association with Ukrainian male models who attempted to set fire to two properties and a car Starmer owns is a fascinating sub-plot to follow through the courts as our country hurtles towards the abyss.  And yes, we're broke, confused, indolent and (Islamic) immigration will be the catalyst for all the destruction, horror and death which is impending.

I thought the Mandelson appointment inexplicable at the time. My best guess is that having been laser-focused on winning the election, the new Labour government was completely unprepared to actually govern afterwards. Lacking ideas of their own they reached back to the last time Labour had been a real success and started appointing Blair-era figures to various posts. But even then - Mandelson? They must have been desperate.
