Dan, I would add to the credibility and feasibility of your idea by saying that parts of it have been proposed by relevant members ( Ambassadors, etc) of the Gulf countries.

The versions that I have heard always include the PA, but crucially it is to be a significantly ‘reconstituted’ PA without Mahmoud Abbas.

Another aspect is that Hamas' ongoing hold over Gaza is Iran and Qatar's last thorn in the side of Israel (apart from the occasional rocket lobbed at Israel by the Houthis). They will be most reluctant to give up this final piece of leverage despite any possible entreaties to Qatar from Trump and/or Witkoff.

Especially after Trump's visit to the region proved him to be a spineless lickspittle with zero trace of the negotiating savvy of which he has always emptily boasted.

The problem is that Jihadi's don't think like rational beings. I don't see Hamas being willing to concede power, unless forced to do so. They will be content to rule over a ruined Gaza as long as they can finance the re-equipment of their forces by stealing incoming aid from a complicit UN. As for permitting Gazans to leave the strip, the only way out is in a body bag, with a Hamas seal affixed. This scenario would persist for many years with Israel continuing to receive opprobrium from the West's gang of useful idiots.

Netanyahu has the blood on his hands. Neglecting the plan for the day after has made the hostages irrelevant in his eyes..Trump wants a Nobel Prize. He has no where else to go so a hostage deal might be his The Nobel prize committee should state that they never award convicted felons..the hostages should have been home By October 10 and then deal with Hamas..

Trump should have gotten a Nobel Prize for the Abraham Accords. Like him or not it was clearly deserved.

(Geez, Arafat got one.)

Not on point to this Dan Perry piece, but since you mention the2025 project:

I believe that Trump is allowing several, who knows how many, people working in his administration to carry out their own vindictive agendas. Not least of whom is Stephen Miller. I don’t say that to excuse Trump; perhaps it makes him even worse.
